Shopping became long ago a leisure activity and Amsterdam visitors are dedicating some of their time for that activity.

There are few shopping streets in Amsterdam that tourists find attractive:

• Pieter Cornelisz (P.C.) Hooftstraat: window-shopping designers
• De Jordaan: a beautiful area also for shopping
• Kalverstraat: the walking street parallel to Damrak. Central location with all the shops one can imagine.
• Nieuwendijk: separated by the Dam square from Kalverstraat. Most tourists treat the two as one.
